The University of Maryland School Mental Health Program offers clinical externships/practicum to graduate students studying clinical social work, professional counseling, school psychology, or clinical psychology.
Externs are placed in a Baltimore City public school, approximately two days per week, and receive individual and group supervision.
This clinical training opportunity provides the extern with experience in mental health prevention and promotion (including whole school activities, classroom presentations, and teacher in-services), as well as individual, group, and family therapy for general education students.
